WHERE AND WHEN WILL OUR CUSTOM PORTRAIT SESSION TAKE PLACE?
All portrait sessions are shot outside on location using natural light. I am constantly on the lookout for new and fresh locations, so these are changing all the time. I love a more contemporary feel to my images, so new locations will include fields, buildings and great backdrops. I have many favorite locations, but I am always up for something new and exciting.
The best light of the day is first thing in the morning or right before sunset, so those times are when I shoot my sessions.

WHAT IS A CUSTOM PORTRAIT EXPERIENCE?
When you book a session with me, I will personally work with you from start to finish. From the first email until your order is delivered, I will be there every step of the way to help make your experience amazing. My clients time and investment is valued, and customer service and satisfaction is my number one priority.
DO I HAVE TO USE THE PHOTOGRAPHER THE SCHOOL SUGGESTED?
Actually, you may use whoever you wish for your senior portraits. The school usually sends out a list with the names of the same photographers they have been using for years, and years, and years…well, you get it. The happygirlphotography experience is more along the lines of a professional photoshoot, with styling, location, wardrobe changes, all that you would imagine would happen during a professional shoot.
EVERYONE LOOKS SO AMAZING ON YOUR WEBSITE, HOW CAN I LOOK LIKE THAT?
After booking your session with happygirlphotography, you will be sent our online booking form to answer a few questions about about yourself and the type of session you are looking for. You will also be sent our “WHAT TO WEAR” guide designed specifically for seniors to prepare you for your session. The extensive online guide will help you with styling, clothing choices, hair and make-up, along with many other tips and tricks to help make your images amazing! (we even have one for boys)
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO BOOK MY SESSION?
I am currently scheduling summer 2013 sessions. Only a limited number of sessions are scheduled per month, so I am usually booked 3-4 weeks in advance, 4-6 weeks during my busy season. With the launch and rapid growth of happygirldesign, I will be cutting back on the number of sessions I will be shooting during 2013. I will only be shooting one or two sessions per week, Tuesday thru Friday.
DO I HAVE TO PICK ONE IMAGE AND ONLY ORDER DIFFERENT SIZES OF THAT IMAGE?
Absolutely not, you can order prints and products of as many different images as you would like.
DO YOU OFFER DIGITAL NEGATIVES FOR SALE?
Yes, all three of our collections include digital negatives. I feel that having the option of owning your images for a lifetime is so important! Lives change, houses change, I want you to leave our experience knowing that you have the freedom to print your images large and small, again and again.
IS THERE A MINIMUM PRINT ORDER?
Yes there is a minimum print order of $700, this does not include your session fee. I want you to love your images, and think of your portraits as an investment that will bring you joy for years to come. As a client once said to me “I may regret buying the latest gadget available that is now obsolete, but I have never regretted for a minute the money I spent to have beautiful images of my family hanging in my home” You can access all my pricing information here
DO YOU SHOW ALL THE IMAGES YOU SHOOT DURING OUR SESSION?
There will be between 20 and 30 images shown in your session gallery, depending on the type of session you have (family or senior). I may shoot hundreds of images during our session, so by hiring me, you can trust that I will show you the best and most flattering images from our shoot.
ARE BLACK AND WHITE IMAGES AVAILABLE?
Of course! Every image in your gallery has the option of being converted to black and white. I will usually show a few options in your gallery.
WHEN CAN WE SEE THE IMAGES?
Your images will be displayed in a custom online gallery within 2 weeks of your session. You will be sent an email with a link to access your gallery.
YOUR GALLERY WILL REMAIN ACTIVE FOR 14 DAYS. Orders will need to be placed during this time through your ordering cart. For workflow purposes, all images will be archived after your original 14 day gallery has expired. After this time, a fee of $50 will be required to re-instate your gallery.
