![]() ![]() I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving, I for one know that I ate WAY too much… but being with friends and family was a wonderful way to spend the day! I know I have been falling behind on my blogging so I promise to try harder:) Preparing for the launch of my new business while running my photography business has been very time consuming, but so worth it in the end! Everything is coming together, which is SO exciting for me. I hope you all love it as much as I have loved creating it! Here is a peek of the lovely Maddie, so sweet and a smile that could break 1000 hearts….. ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() While my shooting season is coming to an end for the year, I am so excited to announce a new branch of my brand…happygirldesign! This is something that has been in the works for a while, but finally it is a dream that is becoming a reality! One of the gifts that I was given when starting my photography business 6 years ago ( though it did not feel like a gift at the time) was that I started from scratch. I had a camera, a small computer, a blogger blog and no money…how was I going to build this into a thriving business when I could not afford to hire people to do all the things that I saw in the successful photographers businesses….fancy websites and blogs, marketing campaigns, beautiful packaging, branding, logo’s, 100′s to 1000′s of followers every month, how can I make this happen… the only way I could think to make it work and be successful is to learn to do everything myself…and so my journey began. I am so proud to say that everything that is happygirlphotography comes only from me. Everything that is listed above and where I am today is because I had no choice but to become a professional photographer, graphic designer, business owner, entrepreneur, SEO expert, social networking guru, photoshop fanatic while still being myself and being a mother to my two wonderful girls, I am exhausted just thinking about it! Through this journey I have found another passion along with photography that excites me, keeps me up at night, and fulfills that creative side of me. happygirldesigns is that dream come true! I will be offering custom websites / custom blogs as well as pre-made templates for both. All custom sites will be mobile ready, search engine optimized and equipped with all the bells and whistles. All sites will be customized, built, installed, optimized and launched for you…think of me as your builder, architect, and interior designer all in one! Please check back for the launch…crossing my fingers for December 15th, here is my design websites new home www.happygirldesign.com Now, no worries, this will not effect happygirlphotography in any way, I love what I do and I am blessed to have the best clients in the world! We just have some long winters here in the mid-west! Oh wait, I forgot to say that at the beginning of the year I will also be launching my new blog-site! Everything in one place, no more jumping around from site to site, all the images, information, pages for families and seniors will be in one place…WHEW! Back to regular programming….Here is a fun shoot with Nick downtown… great looking guy, amazing light, fun backdrops, what more do you want…..

![]() ![]() ![]() I was so honored when Annie called me to shoot her beautiful family. Though we had never met, it turns out that I knew some of her immediate family and friends, I think it must be fate! Annie and her husband had recently relocated to Cincinnati from Scottsdale, Arizona to be be closer to the wonderful physicians at Children’s Hospital. Their lovely daughter Scarlett has a very rare, genetic disease called SMA. This disease affects part of the nervous system that controls voluntary muscle movement. Scarlett will never be able to walk, stand, sit, eat, breathe and even swallow without assistance. All of her muscles are extremely weak, with the weakest muscles being the legs, upper arms and neck. Her mind and spirit are no different from that of a healthy baby. She has a bright, expressive face and eyes. Please read more about Scarlett and her family on Scarlett’s blog Here is a slideshow from this very special session…this is exactly why I do what I do, and why I love my job so much! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
